WAVY - "2011, 10 WHO CARE AWARDS"
11/17/11 - Kerry Wallace, a member of the Wachapreague Volunteer Fire Company was a recipient of the "2011 - 10 Who Care Awards", which are awarded annually by WAVY television Channel 10. The special ceremony was held on November 17, 2011 in the Grand Ballroom of the Newport News Marriott at City Center, in Newport News, Virginia. Mr. Wallace was honored for 53 years of service as a volunteer firefighter with the Wachapreague Volunteer Fire Company, 2001 Inductee of the Volunteer Firefighters Hall of Fame, and for being an volunteer at the annual firemen's carnival fundraiser. He was nominated by his daughter, Susan "Hope" Wallace Linton, who resides in Parksley.
