SAXIS VOL. FIRE & RESCUE - STATION 5, 27th ANNUAL TURKEY SHOOT

On Saturday, November 19, 2011 the Saxis Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company held their 26th Annual Turkey Shoot. The event is held each year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. All of the money raised goes towards buying new bicycles for the Accomack County Parks and Recreation department, which are given away at Christmas time, to children that may not be as fortunate as others. The members of the Saxis Vol. Fire & Rescue Company would like to thank all of those who came out to support this worthy cause. "It's great to see the smiles on the young kids faces when they pick out that new bike" - Saxis V.F.R.C. President Aubrey Justice. (Editor's Note: The members of the Parksley Volunteer Fire Company (Station 7) also assist in this annual tradition of helping the Shore's unfortunate children).
