Saxis Road Structure Fire
On September 23, 2011 Stations 5 (Saxis), 6 (Bloxom), 4 (Atlantic), and 1 (New Church) were dispatched to a reported structure fire located at the corner of Saxis Road and Jenkins Bridge Road. Reports indicated that smoke was coming from the eaves of the structure. Engine 5-6 arrived on scene with fire visible. The fire was quickly brought under control, however crews remained on the scene for several hours for overhaul and investigation. Virginia State Police investigator Neal is handling the investigation.
