On October 11, 2011 at 05:23 hrs, Stations 7 (Parksley), 8 (Tasley), 18 (Onley) and 9 (Onancock) were dispatched for a residential structure fire at 25518 Parks Road, near Pastoria. Engine 75 arrived on scene with a single family dwelling heavily involved. Engine 95 laid a five inch LDH supply line from Engine 75 out the narrow tree lined driveway and drafted from a folding tank to supply the firefighting operations. Stations 10 (Melfa) and 11 (Wachapreague) were requested for tankers to support the water shuttle operation. DPS 81 (Lewis) had the Command and DPS 3 (Pruitt) handled water supply. Virginia State Police Fire Investigator Neal was on scene for the investigation. A & N Electric controlled utilities and Accomack County Sheriff's Office assisted with traffic control. Rehab was provided by Station 7 and Safety 10 provided coffee and breakfast sandwiches for the firefighters on scene.
