12/25/2011 - Stations 9 (Onancock), 8 (Tasley), 18 (Onley) and 10 (Melfa) were dispatched on Christmas morning for a structure fire on Justis Street in the Town of Onancock. Engine 95 arrived and confirmed a working fire in a residential dwelling. Engine 95 laid in a 5" LDH supply line from a hydrant on Market Street to provide their water supply. Station 7 (Parksley) was added to the assignment for manpower and R.I.T. Crews advanced handlines into the structure and encountered fire in a bedroom on the second floor. The fire was held to the room of origin. There were no injuries and most of the families belongings were saved. Assistant Chief 9 (A. James) had the Command and Deputy Chief 9 (Ross) had operations. A & N Electric controlled utilities. Special thanks to all the Volunteers who left their families on Christmas morning to respond to this call!
