On July 30, 2011 at approximately 2205 hours, Stations 3 (Chincoteague), 25 (Wallops), and 4 (Atlantic) were alerted for a residential structure fire at 6309 Highland Park Drive. Command 3 arrived on location with smoke showing from a one-story residential structure. One victim self-evacuated and was transported Priority 2 to Peninsula Regional Medical Center. The fire was confined to the kitchen with smoke damage throughout the structure. One firefighter was treated on the scene. Chief 3 (Lappin) had Highland Park command. Units on scene were: (Chincoteague) Medic 3-1, Medic 3-2, Engines 3-3, 3-4, 3-5, 3-6, Ladder 3, Command 3, and Utility 3-8; (Wallops) Engine 25-3; (Atlantic) Engine 4-6 and Rescue 4. The Chincoteague Police Department was also on location.
