On August 25, 2011 at 1137 hours, Stations 7 (Parksley), 8 (Tasley), 9 (Onancock) and 18 (Onley) were alerted for a Structure Fire 27116 Baylys Neck Road. Monitor 7-11 (A. Lewis) arrived on the scene to find a large barn fully engulfed, with exposures to a boat, residence, and the woods. An additional tanker was requested from Station 10 (Melfa). DC-9 (M. Truitt) was the officer in command. Crews were able to contain the fire and prevent extension into the residence. Due to the dry weather conditions the woods fire spread quickly and required further resources, Brush trucks were dispatched. Crews remained on the scene for several hours and were later recalled to the scene at 1519 hours.
