The Cape Charles Rescue Service (Station 19), proudly announces that "Unit 19-2" was recently placed into service. The ambulance was built by Lifeline Emergency Vehicles, and was constructed in Sumner, Iowa. The chassis is a 2012 International Terra Star, powered by an International diesel motor. The new unit features a white and red color scheme, and is equipped with an L.E.D. emergency & D.O.T. lighting package. Other features include a GPS mapping system, which is located next to the driver and a built-in child safety seat. Partial funding for the unit was provided by the Virginia Rescue Squad Assistance grant program. The ambulance was purchased through Rocky Keplinger of Richmond, Virginia.
