WOODS FIRE - SHERWOOD DRIVE, NELSONIA
On January 3, 2012 at 12:59 hours, Stations 6 (Bloxom) & 7 (Parksley) were dispatched for a woods fire, near 28357 Sherwood Drive in Nelsonia. Immediately after dispatch the call was upgraded to a structure fire, reported to be a trailer in the woods. Stations 4 (Atlantic) & 8 (Tasley) were added to the dispatch. Engine 6-5 arrived on location with an abandoned mobile home on the ground, with minor extension to nearby brush. Deputy Chief 6 (S. Bagwell) established Sherwood Drive command. Engine 7-5 was positioned on Johnson Court. Crews from all stations quickly contained the fire and were working on complete extinguishment when Dispatch contacted Command with a report of a Motor Vehicle Crash with possible entrapment near Sherwood Drive & Lankford Highway. Command released DPS-3, Rescue 4, & Medic 7-2 to respond to that incident.
